ideal base for exploring local cultures and parks
I loved how easy it was to stroll to Braunton Countryside Centre, which is just about a 10-minute walk away, and the cozy vibe of the nearby Braunton Great Field made my mornings feel special while enjoying the park views. the room was perfect, immaculately clean with good quality towels, which made my short stay completely satisfying.

A lovely, spacious room featuring a private bathroom made for a comfortable stay. The cooked breakfast was exceptional, offering generous portions. Parking was a breeze, which is often hard to find in this area. I didn't utilize the bar downstairs, so I can't evaluate the drinks. The buzzing atmosphere in the bar did not impact my room's tranquility, which was a plus.

Comfortable room and great location
I enjoyed my stay in a spacious and clean double room with a private bathroom, which offered all the comforts I needed. The staff were friendly and provided excellent local recommendations. The location was ideal for accessing the nearby shops and beaches, making it a perfect base for my travels. One area for improvement could be faster service during peak times, as it felt slightly slow during breakfast.

Had a great time with friends! We explored Ilfracombe Harbour and enjoyed surfing near the hotel. The staff were super friendly, the breakfast was tasty, and the location was perfect for bars and restaurants. We'd definitely stay here again for the value and convenience.
One downside was the cleanliness of the duvet. there was some fluff, making us wonder about pet hair since they allow dogs.

had a lovely stay at the george inn! the room was super comfy with good amenities like tea and coffee. staff were friendly and really helpful, even gave us a bowl of water for our dog. food was delicious and fresh, especially loved the seasonal dishes. location is fab for exploring braunton and the coast!
only downside was the shower could use more power and felt a bit weak. also, the cleanliness of the water glasses could be improved, felt a bit unhygienic.

great location with some noise issues
The location in the heart of town is excellent and made exploring very convenient. Breakfast was outstanding, with Charlotte offering exceptional service that truly made our morning enjoyable.
The traffic noise from the main road can be disruptive for light sleepers.

The room featured a comfortable bed with pillows just the right firmness, a key aspect for a good night’s sleep. The location is convenient for exploring the area, providing easy access to local shops and eateries.
The room in question could really use some TLC—damaged trim in the shower and a missing slat on the shutters caught my eye right away. It got cold in there, tough to relax when you’re bundled up in your coat, and heating issues left the radiators cold at night. Storage space felt cramped, with just one chair in a room designed for two. the bathroom setup has a few quirks, like a mirror way too high for average folk and a loose toilet seat that didn't inspire confidence.

I found The George Inn to be quite a cozy place. I appreciated the early check-in, which allowed me to settle in without a rush. The room was spacious, clean, and had comfortable beds, perfect for a restful night. I loved the breakfast, especially the veggie sausages. they were delicious! the heating seemed inconsistent. I sat with my coat on for a bit until I got the heating adjusted. The shower could use a better spray—not enough pressure for my liking. The decor felt a bit dated, and I noticed a missing slat from the window shutters, which made it feel less polished. Despite these issues, the friendly staff made my stay enjoyable. Parking was easy, just across the road, which was very convenient. it was a pleasant stay, with a few bumps that could use some attention.

The breakfast here is a solid 10, with home-made bread that’s a true delight! Plus, the spacious, clean room made for a cozy retreat after exploring the local scene. Best of all, the parking situation was a breeze, right across from the pub—no stress at all!
The former skittle alley needs a bit of a facelift. And that constant refrigeration hum from the Coop next door? A cheeky distraction during the night.
